Monterey Airplane Company. Located on northwest side of airport near residential area.
Based here are two Rockwell Turbo Commanders which are the loudest turbo props on
the ground and two Sabre Liners which are very loud stage II jets. A major noise impact in
the residential area is created by the Monterey Airplane Company.



North Side Investors Phase 1 Hangars and a portion of taxi lane E. Located on northwest

Taxi lane E, North Side Investors Hangars and the Monterey Airplane Company are major
sources of excessive ground noise and jet exhaust fumes in the residential areas.




Navy Flying Club. Located on the north side of airport near residential. Due to
it's location the Navy Flying Club is a major contributor to noise and safety
concerns in the residential areas.




Area northwest of former Fire Fighting Training Facility. Located on north side of airport
near residential area. Proposed characterization of the FFTF is scheduled to be conducted by
US Army Corps of Engineers in 2000. This area has been leased to these tenants since 1991.




Sound muffling oak trees were removed to accommodate these tenants. Operations Officer,
Jacquelyn Hulsey, advised that people have been found living in this area and to call airport
police if any people were seen in the trees (greenbelt.) Located on north side of airport,
residential area just on the other side of the greenbelt.



Burned planes used for fire fighting training lie abandoned next to the greenbelt. Since the
early 1980s fire fighting training has been curtailed due to air pollution problems. Located
on northeast side of airport near residential area.
